Chassis
Frame and underbody
Land Cruisers are tough, but older ones can corrode on the rear crossmember, chassis rails and suspension mounts, especially if they have lived on farms or salted roads. Tell us about any treatment or welding and send clear photos underneath.
Engine
Engine and transmission
The 3.0 D-4D in the LC3 and LC4 can suffer injector wear, while the 2.8 may need DPF attention on short trips. The V8s are strong but thirsty. Tell us about smoke, noises, warning lights and big jobs done.
Kit
Overland equipment
We count overland equipment in, rather than marking the vehicle down. Tell us what is fitted, by whom, and anything you'd like to keep.
Spec
Grade and seating
Seven-seat Invincibles and two-seat commercials find different buyers. Tell us the exact trim, the number of seats and options like the KDSS suspension or the rear entertainment screens.
Towing
Life as a tow car
Most Land Cruisers have towed something heavy. Tell us what and how often, and whether the gearbox, clutch or rear suspension has been serviced or replaced.
History
Records and paperwork
History matters on a Land Cruiser because it explains the mileage. Mention timing belt changes on older diesels, injector work and any recalls done.
Your checklist
- The V5C registration document in your name
- Photo ID: passport or driving licence
- All keys, including the spare and any locking wheel nut key
- Service book and invoices, especially injectors and timing work
- Receipts for overland and off-road equipment
- If there is finance: the settlement figure from your lender
This page explains what we look at when we value a Land Cruiser. It isn't a price guide: every vehicle is valued individually, free and without obligation.
